This month, PlaySugarHouse.com launched a new service consisting of sports betting integrated with its online casino. This is the latest online casino in NJ to feature online sports betting.
The website went live on August 23rd at 6 a.m. after receiving approval from New Jersey’s gambling regulators.
At the same time, the SugarHouse Online Sportsbook & Casino is the first online sports betting to be associated with the license of the Golden Nugget casino in Atlantic City, which has an online affiliation with Philadelphia’s SugarHouse casino.
PlaySugarHouse.com is operated by Rush Street Interactive. At the moment, Rush Street Interactive operates a regulated online and mobile sports book in Colombia.
According to Richard Schwartz, it was very helpful that PlaySugarHouse.com was the first gaming operator based in the US to launch a regulated online sportsbook outside the country. It helped establish the SugarHouse Online Sportsbook & Casino. Richard Schwartz is the president of Rush Street Interactive.
The company said that gamblers will be able to switch between sports betting and online casino gambling using the unified player accounts, wallets and bonus points.
The first online casino in New Jersey to offer sports betting
Offering mobile phone sports betting starting August 23rd, the Borgata casino was the first casino in New Jersey to offer sports betting starting June. Since then, it was joined by the Ocean Resort Casino, Harrah’s, Bally’s, Resorts and the Golden Nugget. There are other casinos that are waiting for approval from state regulators. These casinos hope to go live before the NFL season, which begins the first week of September.
Up until now, there are six casinos in Atlantic City that offer sports betting. There is a total of nine casinos in Atlantic City and two of them offer horse racing tracks.
July was the first full month when sport betting was legal. In that month, gambling outlets in New Jersey took in $40.6 million in sports wagers.
